Artist's note

A different way of thinking and making.

Before moving to Canada, my creative practice centred on traditional Persian calligraphy and painting. After settling here—and especially during the COVID-19 pandemic—I began exploring how calligraphy could move beyond the page and take on texture, depth and form.

That exploration opened a new creative language, combining Persian script and painting with wood, string, metal, stone, modelling paste, resin and glass. Each work begins with a word, relationship or idea, then uses material to give meaning a physical presence.
